Korg B2 / B2SP Digital Piano: Master Command & Shortcode Reference This reference guide covers all input combinations, shortcodes, and hidden functions for the Korg B2, B2SP, and B2N digital pianos. Korg prints the names of most advanced functions directly onto the chassis just above the keys. To execute a command, hold the modifier button(s) on the left panel and press the target key. 1. Disable Auto Power-Off Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press C8 (Highest Key) Prevents the piano from automatically shutting down after 30 minutes of inactivity. 2. Touch Sensitivity (Key Weight Response) Function Modifier Button(s) Target Piano Key Description Lighter Touch Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press A7 (Label: Lighter) Requires less physical force to reach maximum volume. Good for synth lines or reducing hand fatigue. Normal Touch Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press A#7 / Bb7 (Label: Normal) Standard acoustic piano dynamic response (Default). Heavier Touch Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press B7 (Label: Heavier) Requires forceful striking for max volume. Ideal for extreme dynamic control in classical pieces (e.g., Chopin or Debussy). 3. Instant Sound Selection Bypass the sequential cycling by jumping straight to a specific patch. Use the first 12 white keys starting from the far left. Reverb Off Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Key labelled Reverb Off Removes hall resonance for a completely dry signal. Chorus On / Off Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled Chorus On / Off Toggles modulation. Highly recommended for Electric Piano patches. 5. MIDI & Homelab Connectivity (USB) Function Modifier Button(s) Target Piano Key Description Local Control Off Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Key labelled Local Off Mutes the internal Korg speakers so you only hear the virtual instrument from your homelab server or DAW (prevents a double-note echo). Local Control On Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Key labelled Local On Restores sound to the internal Korg speakers. PC Enable / Disable Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled PC Enable/Disable Toggles whether the piano accepts Program Change (instrument patch) commands from external software. CC Enable / Disable Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled CC Enable/Disable Toggles whether sustain pedal data (Control Change) is sent/received. MIDI Channel Down / Up Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled Channel Down/Up Cycles through MIDI transmission channels 1-16 to avoid data conflicts. 6. Transpose & Master Tuning Function Modifier Button(s) Target Piano Key Description Reset Transpose (±0) Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press C7 (Label: ±0) Returns the keyboard to standard concert pitch. Transpose Down (-1 to -6) Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press keys B6 down to F#6 Lowers the pitch in semitones (labels -1 through -6). Transpose Up (+1 to +5) Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press keys C#7 to F7 Raises the pitch in semitones (labels +1 through +5). Pitch Higher / Lower Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled Pitch Higher/Lower Fine-tunes the master frequency. Press both simultaneously to instantly reset to A4=440Hz. 7. Advanced Metronome Settings Function Modifier Button(s) Target Piano Key Description Set Tempo Hold METRONOME Keys labelled x100 , x10 , x1 Build your exact BPM. (e.g., for 125 BPM: press x100 once, x10 twice, x1 five times). Time Signature (Beat) Hold METRONOME Key labelled Beat Cycle the accent placement (2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/4). Metronome Volume Hold METRONOME Keys labelled Low or High Balances the click track against the volume of your playing.
