Korg B2 / B2SP Digital Piano: Master Command & Shortcode Reference

This reference guide covers all input combinations, shortcodes, and hidden functions for the Korg B2, B2SP, and B2N digital pianos. 1. Core Modes & Power Commands

To disable this, hold PIANO PLAY and SOUND simultaneously and press the Auto Power-Off Disable key (the highest key on the keyboard, C8).

    2. Instant Sound Selection

    Instead of pressing the SOUND button repeatedly to cycle through patches, you can select them directly. This is particularly useful for jumping straight to the richer classical piano sounds without cycling through the entire bank.

    Action: Hold the SOUND button and press one of the first 12 white keys (starting from the lowest note, A0):

      3. Touch Sensitivity (Key Weight Response)

      Function Modifier Button(s) Target Piano Key Description Action:Lighter Touch Hold downPIANO PLAY + SOUND Press A7 (Label: Lighter) Requires less physical force to reach maximum volume. Good for synth lines or reducing hand fatigue. Normal Touch Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press A#7 / Bb7 (Label: Normal) Standard acoustic piano dynamic response (Default). Heavier Touch Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press B7 (Label: Heavier) Requires forceful striking for max volume. Ideal for extreme dynamic control in classical pieces (e.g., Chopin or Debussy).

        4. Transposition & Master Tuning

        Action: Hold down the PIANO PLAY and SOUND buttons simultaneously while pressing the corresponding keys:

          Transpose Down: Press keys between F6 and B6 to lower the pitch in semitones. Transpose Up: Press keys between C#7 and F7 to raise the pitch in semitones. Reset Transpose: Press C7 to return to standard tuning. Master Tuning (Fine Pitch): Press the designated Pitch Higher / Pitch Lower keys. Press both the Higher and Lower keys simultaneously to instantly reset the tuning to A4 = 440 Hz.

          5. Effects Control (Reverb & Chorus)

          Action:

          5. MIDI & Homelab Connectivity (USB)

          6. Transpose & Master Tuning

Transpose Down (-1 to -6) Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press keys B6 down to F#6 Lowers the pitch in semitones (labels -1 through -6). Transpose Up (+1 to +5) Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Press keys C#7 to F7 Raises the pitch in semitones (labels +1 through +5). Pitch Higher / Lower Hold PIANO PLAY + SOUND Keys labelled Pitch Higher/Lower Fine-tunes the master frequency. Press both simultaneously to instantly reset to A4=440Hz.

          7. Advanced Metronome Settings

            Pro-Tip: If any advanced setting misbehaves, the fastest way to restore standard functionality is to perform a power cycle. Powering down the piano clears most non-permanent states.
